Debate!

I've got a question for you:

As it's been over 60 years since the end of the Second World War, do you think that it's time for the US to remove all of it's military bases from Japan?

I'd like to hear others opinions on the subject, especially from any of my Japanese readers (if I still have any!)

(And before you ask Phil, I'm not trying to stir up trouble! Hahaha!)

:D

No.
We don't have an "ARMY". Only have the Self-Defense Forces and we are under threat of Taepodongs from North Korea....
There are a lot of debates if we should have an army(even for peace keeping oerations) but it's take some time(
maybe for a long time) until we get the answer. We have to change someting and prepare for the futre but just removing US military bases won't prove anythig good.

I agree with Eriko...Although I'm not sure how real the threat from NK really is, but, unfortunately Japan definitely does need some kind of military deterrent.
It's a choice between the US forces, or Japan changing her constitution and having a real "army", which I don't think is a good step.
(No trouble stirred Colin, a good debate I think!)
